Passive Fire Training – NVQ Level 2 Qualification Level
The qualification is suitable for tradesmen with several years of experience. You will need to demonstrate that you have the necessary skills and knowledge to use safe methods of access (towers, podiums etc.), and to safely install and finish two of the following:
- Fire-stopping to service penetrations in walls, partitions and floors
- Fire-rated encasements around steel beams and columns
- Fire-rated walls (i.e. Shaftwall)
- Fire-rated suspended ceilings
- Intumescent Spraying to the structural steel beams and columns
The most common way to achieve your NVQ is called the On Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) and involves our assessor collecting evidence of candidate’s skills by workplace observation and questioning. Candidates can also provide additional evidence in the forms of Toolbox Talks, Timesheets, Induction Registers and Employer’s or Client’s References. The whole process is designed around candidates and their needs. The idea is that assessor should not in any way interfere with the candidate’s work activities and must be almost invisible during workplace observations. At the end of the assessment assessor will conducted a tape-recorded discussion with the candidate to confirm their work knowledge.
