Requirements

The qualification is suitable for on-site foremen with at least 3 year’s experience in site supervision. Assessment Process

The most common way to achieve your NVQ is called the On Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) and involves an assessor collecting evidence of candidate’s skills by workplace observation and questioning. In case of Occupational Work Supervision it is very important that additional paperwork evidence is collected showing that the candidate regularly carries out Supervisory tasks such as conducting Toolbox Talks and Safety Inductions, ordering and receiving deliveries of materials and taking part in site meetings. This evidence can be in the forms of Toolbox Talks and Induction Safety registers signed by the candidate as well as Delivery Notes, Purchase Orders and Minutes of Site Meeting with the candidate’s name on them. Copies of these documents are normally easily obtainable from the candidate’s employer or client. There is also a requirement for a tape-recorded discussion with assessor at the end of the assessment to confirm candidate’s work knowledge.

How Long Does It Take?

The minimum length of the assessments from the candidate’s registration to the actual achievement of the NVQ is about three months and the maximum is twenty four months. We will always make sure that you achieve your qualification in the shortest possible time by using assessment methods tailored to your circumstances and constantly updating you on the progress of the assessment.
